We Named the Top Achievements in the Star Norwegian’s Career
Recently, Manchester City forward Erling Haaland celebrated another milestone — he scored his 100th goal in the English Premier League.

The Norwegian reached the 100-goal mark quicker than anybody else in history. Now, Erling Haaland has a chance to pursue Alan Shearer’s record of being the all-time leading goal scorer in the EPL — he has 260.
On one hand, there are many, many miles to go before Erling reaches Shearer’s mark. On the other hand, Haaland signed a long-term contract through 2031, and if Erling continues to produce like he has been, then anything is possible. That is talk for the future though; for now, we will celebrate 10 incredible records that Erling has already established.

Fastest 100 Goals in the EPL

The latest record is not only the newest, but also perhaps the most amazing. Erling Haaland scored 100 goals in the EPL in less time than anybody else in history – in just 111 matches.
Erling significantly exceeded Shearer, who required 124 games to establish the record. For a long time, Alan was the record holder for this category, and Harry Kane was the closest Englishman to challenge him. Harry Kane required 141 matches to score 100 goals. Ultimately, the Norwegian outpaced both Englishmen

Fastest 50 Goals in the Champions League

As you can see from the title, the EPL is not the only competition where Erling Haaland has found a home. In the Champions League, Erling Haaland dominated even before his transfer to Manchester City.
The Norwegian scored his first 40 goals in the UCL in 35 matches, and his first 50 – in 49. This is a truly extraordinary result, and the fastest in history. To illustrate this point, Lionel Messi required 66 matches to score his first 50 goals in the Champions League, Robert Lewandowski – 77, and Kylian Mbappé – 79.

Most Goals in a Single EPL Season

Haaland’s first season at Manchester City was the most productive of his career. Erling scored 36 goals in the 2022/23 Premier League campaign, which earned him a spot in English football history.
With that accomplishment, Erling Haaland broke the records of Shearer and Andy Cole, who each had 34 goals in a single EPL season. Both Shearer and Cole played 42 matches in their respective campaigns, while the current EPL season consists of 38 matches.

Most Goals in the First Month of the Season

After transferring to Manchester City, Erling Haaland quickly got down to business. He established a record for the most goals scored in the first month of the season in the Premier League by scoring nine goals in five matches.

Home Hat-Tricks

During the first season at the Etihad, Haaland demonstrated great ability to be productive. Erling scored three goals each in matches against Crystal Palace, Nottingham Forest, and Manchester United. All three games took place at the Etihad Stadium. Therefore, Erling became the first player in EPL history to have three hat-tricks in three consecutive home matches.

Fastest Three Hat-Tricks

Both of those three hat-tricks achieved by the Norwegian entered history in multiple ways. The second record pertains to the number of matches Haaland needed to complete that. Erling scored his first three hat-tricks in the Premier League in just eight matches — the fastest mark in history.
Michael Owen previously held the record for most matches to achieve the first three hat-tricks in the EPL (48). The gap between the Norwegian and the Englishman is enormous.

First in History to Win Two Consecutive Championships and Golden Boots

Because Erling Haaland scored a record 36 goals in the 2022/23 season — thus leading the league’s top scorers race and winning the EPL Golden Boot — he was able to lead Manchester City to back-to-back championships. Additionally, Erling scored 27 goals in the subsequent season, yet still finished the league’s most productive player. For both of those seasons, Manchester City was crowned the EPL champion. As such, Erling became the first player in Premier League history to win both the Championship and the Golden Boot in two consecutive seasons. Erling Haaland’s run was interrupted at the end of the 2024/25 season, when Liverpool won the Championship, and Mohamed Salah was the top scorer.

Many of his records Haaland established in the 2022/23 season, which was his first season with Manchester City. At the conclusion of that season, Erling Haaland scored 36 goals in the EPL, and a total of 52 in all competitions.
Therefore, Erling Haaland became the most productive player from the EPL with respect to the total number of goals he scored in a single season, surpassing the numbers of Mohamed Salah and Ruud van Nistelrooy, who each scored 43.

First Player with a Penta in the Champions League and FA Cup

In March 2023, Erling Haaland scored five goals in a Champions League game against RB Leipzig. In doing so, he joined only Luiz Adriano and Lionel Messi as the only players to have achieved a quintuple (penta) in the Champions League. Later, Erling Haaland achieved the rare feat of a penta-trick again, in an FA Cup match against Luton Town.
In the first instance, Erling Haaland became only the third player to achieve such a feat, and in the second — the only player. Thus, Erling Haaland is the only footballer in history to have a penta-trick in the Champions League and the FA Cup.

Historical Sequence in the Champions League

And lastly — the Champions League, where Erling Haaland displays impressive consistency. Erling Haaland scored in five consecutive Champions League matches for Red Bull Salzburg during the 2019/20 season, and in the following season, he achieved the same feat for Borussia Dortmund. Later, Erling Haaland repeated the feat while playing for Manchester City. Thus, Erling Haaland is the first player in history to have scored in five consecutive Champions League matches for three different teams. Another significant achievement.
